The American South on the World Stage
OUR STORY
The 2026 US Ladies Gaelic Football Team - South proudly represents the strength, skill, and spirit of the American South as they prepare to compete at the 2026 GAA World Games in Waterford, Ireland.
Bringing together talented athletes from Houston, Dallas, Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, Hartford, and Boston — this team embodies resilience, athleticism, and a deep respect for the tradition of Gaelic football.
THE SPORT
Welcome to Ladies Gaelic Football
A dynamic, fast-paced field sport deeply rooted in Irish tradition — often described as a blend of soccer, basketball, and rugby.
Played on a large grass pitch, teams move a round ball toward the opponent's goal using a combination of carrying, bouncing, and precise kicking. The game requires quick transitions and tactical teamwork.
Scoring is thrilling: kick the ball over the H-shaped crossbar for one point, or drive it into the net for three. Defined by high-energy gameplay and remarkable displays of athletic skill.
